Bloated

Big turkeyListening to: Miles Davis (Kind of Blue)All this turkey and starch has muddled my entire inner ecosystem. It's like my tastes have been recalibrated. Instead of wanting salads and stuffed grape leaves and tempeh, now I crave a steady intake of roasted poultry and mashed root vegetables with a gravy chaser. I had three complete Thanksgiving meals served at three different friends' houses on Thursday, Saturday and then Sunday. And today for dinner (Tuesday) I ate more turkey. It's done something to me, something heavy and fowl. I'm sick. I would be breakfasting on turkey dinners except I ran out of gravy, and who'd want to start their day with dry turkey? That's what pumpkin pie is for, anyway.I made a two-disc mix called "Thanksgiving 1 & 2" (1 is mellow, 2 is not) that I've been listening to both in and out of the car, and on my way to and from all these turkey dinners. Now when I hear the Libertines "The Man Who Would Be King" or "Rollercoaster" by Sleater-Kinney I start looking around for more cranberry sauce. I either have to put a bunch of my favorite bands on sabbatical until my diet is back to its usual Mediterranean state, or move into an apartment with a vomitorium and a turkey farm out back.
